It has been five years since the devastating earthquake in Port Au Prince, the capital of Haiti. The effects of that disaster are still being felt across the country. I urge you to help provide much-needed relief to the people of Haiti.

3 million people – one-third of Haiti’s population – were affected by the quake. Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, is plagued by hunger and political instability. The earthquake drastically increased the needs of families who had little to lose in the first place.

Organizations have made it easier than ever to give; now it’s important that we do our part. While people across America have struggled through tough economic times over the last few years, the people of Haiti are experiencing much worse – a small donation can make a significant impact.

Donations to most organizations for this cause are tax deductible. There are several ways to give:

Log onto International Child Care's website to make a donation to Grace Children's Hospital in Port Au Prince.

Make a financial or supply donation to Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees. Contributions can be mailed to 418 West 145th Street, New York NY 10031. For more information call Ninaj Raoul at 718-735-4660.
